Our El Paso Fire Fighters not only save lives, they saved our city budget! After the 2008 recession began, our city was in a difficult situation. Twice, our Fire Fighters agreed to delay pay raises to allow the city to pay its bills.
The recession is over, and our city is economically sound. El Paso built a new City Hall and a baseball stadium, and even gave a City Manager a huge 40% pay raise.
Now is the time to give our Fire Fighters their first increase in take-home pay in nearly four years.
The city has suggested giving a very small raise, and raising health insurance premiums from $3,000 to $13,000 - about a third of a Fire Fighter’s yearly pay!
Our El Paso Fire Fighters have agreed to pay more for their health insurance premiums, but they ask to finally have a small take-home pay raise.

Despues de la recesion economica del 2008, nuestra ciudad paso por una situacion dificil. Dos veces, nuestros bomberos aceptaron retrasar su aumento de salario para permitirle a la ciudad pagar sus cuentas.
La recesion ya termino, y nuestra ciudad se encuentra economicamente bien.
Ahora es el momento de darle a nuestros bomberos el primer aumento en salario despues de gastos fijos.
La ciudad ha sugerido darles un muy pequenio aumento y subirles su aseguranza medica de $3,000 a $13,000 - casi una tercera parte del salario anual de un bombero!
Nuestros bomberos han decidido pagar mas por su aseguranza medica, pero piden finalmente un aumento el salario despues de gastos fijos.
